About us
The Quinns Rocks 3-year-old programme started in 1999 and was catering for 4yr olds the year before attending school with the Education Department.
Mandy took over the programme in 2000, and has been the coordinator for 23yrs, and now the programme focuses on children pre-kindy. The programme fills a need in the community for an education-based programme that is separate from Childcare. We have found that offering shorter sessions helps children and parents settle quicker, as this is the first time many of the children have ever been left with an adult other than family or friends. Lots of our children have attended childcare, and have not settled, but have had no trouble attending our programme. Read more about our sessions and rates here.

The programme is play-based learning, meaning children learn through play. For example, children learn maths concepts in the block corner, by looking at shapes, balancing, and constructing. In the home corner they role-play with everyday tasks they see at home or in the community, i.e. making coffee and cakes, sharing, taking turns, dressing up, and going on adventures.
By having a routine, the children always know what is coming next. This helps when they may be upset, knowing that mummy returns after we have been outside and had a story.
